Chicago Blackhawks: Trade packages for Duncan Keith
1. Toronto Maple Leafs
Everyone knows the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team with all the potential in the world. They have drafted really well over the last few years hitting big with Morgan Rielly, William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and of course hitting the jackpot on the 2016 NHL lottery to earn the right to draft Auston Matthews. Then in the 2018 offseason, they added superstar free agent John Tavares. Their time to win is now.

They went into this season with everyone questioning their defense. They have plenty of depth on the forward side of things, but can they get it done with this defensive core? That is the question.
They just recently traded their first-round pick to the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Jake Muzzin. That will incredibly boost their defense. Now, imagine adding Duncan Keith to that group which includes Rielly, Muzzin, Jake Gardiner and others. That, along with their forwards and Fredrik Andersson in net is definitely good enough to win the Stanley Cup.
So what would it take for the Blackhawks to give Keith to the Maple Leafs? It would likely take a draft pick and at minimum one top prospect. The Blackhawks might have to send a later round pick back to Toronto as well to make the trade work.
Something like Keith and a 4th round pick to Toronto for a second round pick plus one of their top prospects in Timothy Liljegren or Calle Rosen. The Blackhawks would also probably not mind take one of their young roster players in Kasperi Kapanen or Andreas Johnsson in addition to that second round pick. It would likely take one of those two packages to get the Blackhawks to give Keith to the Maple Leafs. Winning now is important for the Maple Leafs and looking forward to next year should be the Blackhawks next move, at least if they move Keith.
