Chicago Bears: Potential free agent adds from Philadelphia Eagles

Running Back Jay Ajayi
The story of running back Jay AJayi is somewhat of a sad one, to be quite honest. Ever since coming out of Boise State, I liked him a lot. He just had flashes of his game that looked special. Unfortunately, a slew of injuries have derailed what could have been an incredible start to his career.
Ajayi is just 25 years old, which gives him five more seasons before he hits the big 30. For a running back, 30 years old is typically that age they start to fade. At times, it’s hard to believe Ajayi isn’t 30 years old. The injuries he’s suffered have made it seem like he’s been in the league a while.
Still, if healthy, and if part of a committee, Ajayi is more than just a serviceable back. That’s the tough call, though. There’s no telling what kind of contract he’ll ask for this offseason, but my guess is that his offers won’t be all that high. He could have a chance to come into a Matt Nagy offense with a lot of creativity, and a familiar face in tight end Trey Burton.
I’ll be honest. If this was fantasy football, there’s no way I’m touching Ajayi. I’ve been burned multiple times, regardless of his “value.” Because of this mentality, I’d tend to shy away from the Bears signing him. However, I would not be completely against it if they were to give him a shot.
