5. Danny Trevathan

Another veteran on the Bears roster who hasn’t see a Pro Bowl yet, it’s crazy that Danny Trevathan is a Pro Bowl snub each season. Every year, he plays well enough to deserve being named a Pro Bowl alternate. However, Trevathan doesn’t even seem to earn enough votes to be named that.

It’s easy to sit there and say that 2019 won’t be any different for Trevathan. Yet at 28 years old, Trevathan still has multiple years ahead of him. Additionally, considering his situation, he may be set up to have a huge 2019 season.

2019 is a critical year for Trevathan. Not only will he try and make his first Pro Bowl, but he will also be playing for a new contract. According to Spotrac, Trevathan is due to be a free agent after the 2019 season.

For him to make the Pro Bowl in 2020, he’ll need to bring more energy and step up on a defense that’s looking for another dominant linebacker alongside Khalil Mack. If he can do this, he should be on his way to Orlando.

On a defense that features Khalil Mack, it’s very easy to forget the contributions that Trevathan can make. In fact, you could consider him to be one of the most underrated middle linebackers in the game. Trevathan may not make every play on the field, but when he does, he makes sure his impact is felt.
