Chicago Bears must re-sign these three free agents
Free Agent no. 3: Defensive End Roy Robertson-Harris
While this is more of a sleeper pick, I really believe Roy Robertson-Harris deserves a spot on this team next season. This guy was a great rotational pass rusher who I feel can build on what he accomplished in 2018.
Robertson-Harris started from the very bottom when he was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played in only three games that year and barely saw the field in 2017.
While he didn’t get heavy reps in this elite Bears defense, Robertson-Harris often made his presence felt whenever he had a chance to get into the game.
He made an impact right off the bat, getting early pressure on quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a week one matchup with the Green Bay Packers. He finished the game with three quarterback hits and one tackle for loss.
Robertson-Harris was the guy the front seven turned to when someone needed a breather for a play or two, and I think that’s the perfect role for him. He’s a great situational pass rusher who has shown room for improvement.
It likely won’t cost a lot to retain a player like this, and I think it’s worth shelling out a little extra money to secure depth for the team’s pass rush. Only time will tell what the front office decides.
