It seems as though that Kris Dunn’s time with the Chicago Bulls is nearing an end.

With all the dysfunctional gibberish that has been going on with the Chicago Bulls organization, nothing seems more apparent than the front office possibly trading away Kris Dunn. Darnell Mayberry, who covers the Bulls for the Athletic wrote in his latest piece about the possibility of Dunn being in the Bulls’ future.

It seems as though that the Bulls are ready to move on from Dunn. According to Mayberry, he believes that the Bulls will shop Dunn during the trade deadline so that they won’t have to extend him in the summer. He also goes on to say that top college draft prospect, Ja Morant is at the top of the Bulls list after Zion Williamson.

If the Bulls do away with Dunn and just don’t resign him, then that’s a big issue. Do I see him as the future starting point guard? No, I don’t, but he can be a valuable role player off the bench. The Bulls desperately need as much talent as they can get. Obviously, there are bigger issues this team has to deal with, but the lack of depth on the bench is scary.

Besides Bobby Portis, you have no reliable option to come off the bench and provide any scoring. If the Bulls can keep Dunn, then they should move him to the bench. He can give them the necessary help.

Look, you are not going to hit on every move that you make, unless your Gar Forman and John Paxson, who always seem to struggle to make the right decision. The right decision would be to keep Dunn, resign him for a year and have him come off the bench.

If the Bulls draft Morant, then that would be the perfect situation, but if they get Zion, the Bulls should keep Dunn, until they can find his eventual replacement. There is a lot of work that needs to be done with the roster, and the point guard position is the least of their worries. Focus on rebuilding the small forward position. Chandler Hutchison has proven he can be valuable. Otherwise, there is no other option available that you can rely on.
