Unrestricted Free Agents – Cut

Some might hurt to see leave, others not so much. Here are the unrestricted free agents I have the Bears letting go:

Safety Adrian Amos

Wide Receiver Kevin White

Fullback Michael Burton

Punter Pat O’Donnell

Guard Eric Kush

Running back Benny Cunningham

Tight end Zach Miller (special case)

Cornerback Marcus Williams

Defensive end Nick Williams

First of all, I really do hope to see Amos back in a Bears uniform next season. I know some fans are split on the guy, but I’m a pro-Amos fan and nobody could change my mind. He and Eddie Jackson have formed one of the (if not the) best safety tandems in the league. However, I wonder if he commands too much money and Pace stays a bit more conservative with the future in mind. Then again, he could go all-in on 2019 and bring him back. For now, my gut says Amos does not return.

I won’t touch on all of these guys, because some of them (like Burton) are obvious cuts. Miller is a particular case, and I could see him returning as a coach. If he is somehow cleared for football in the future, believe me, the Bears will find some way to get him on the field if even for a snap — what a story that would be.

The rest of these guys are replaceable at this point, and the biggest priority has to be finding a consistent punter. O’Donnell was somewhat a shoo-in last year because of the lack of other options, but this offseason he has to be replaced.
