The Chicago Bears matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles is full of intriguing storylines for fans to sink their teeth into.

For the first time since 2010, playoff football will be coming to Soldier Field on Sunday when the Chicago Bears play host to the Philadelphia Eagles. The defending Super Bowl champs arrive on a hot streak, though contrary to the opinion of some, they are not the hottest team in the league. That designation would belong to the Bears, having won 9 of their last 10.

In any event, Nick Foles will attempt to replicate the magic from last year’s magical run. Standing in their way will be the aforementioned Bears, who have a little magic of their own going this year.

Nonetheless, this matchup will be an incredibly intriguing one for a variety of reasons that we’ll get into in a bit, but here are a few that didn’t even make the cut:

The Bears will be looking for a little payback from last year’s Week 12 matchup when the Eagles pasted the Bears 31-3 and capped it off with a choreographed electric slide across the field.

There is also the narrative that the Bears resemble, in some ways, the Eagles team from last season. What was once a bunch wound up tightly, is now as loose as can be and dancing in the locker room, similar to the way the Eagles embraced the underdog role last year with the canine masks.

Finally, and ironically, the only reason the Eagles are even in the playoffs to face the Bears, is the Bears themselves! Had they rolled over against the Minnesota Vikings last week, the Eagles would be home making tee times right now.

With all that said, there are still a lot of great storylines, so let’s jump right in.
