Green Bay Packers

I don’t have to remind most Bears fans about last year’s offseason and what the Green Bay Packers attempted to do. Most of you remember the Packers trying to snag cornerback Kyle Fuller away from the Bears, before Ryan Pace chose to keep him in Chicago.

Later in the offseason, it was the Packers and Bears who were in on Khalil Mack. We all know the ending to that story.

But, back when teams were trying to fill coaching spots, the Packers tried their best to get Fangio in Green Bay. Ultimately, he stayed in Chicago — and the rest is history.

The Packers need firm leadership in place across the board. On defense, they have more talent than even Green Bay fans may realize. The potential is there. I’m not even talking about the aging Clay Matthews.

Look at guys like Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels up front. They are studs, no question. Blake Martinez has come a long way in his development at the linebacker position. In the secondary, they are young. But, both Josh Jackson and Jaire Alexander have the potential to be very good. Alexander is already ascending in a big way. Obviously, Kevin King makes all the difference when he is on the field.

If they were to get Fangio in Green Bay, they would of course have a huge advantage in knowing a lot of what the Bears do. Fangio makes a ton of sense for the Packers, but obviously this is the last thing us Bears fans want to see.
