Chicago White Sox: Bryce Harper

After finishing the 2018 season with a franchise-worst 100 losses, theres a lot that the Chicago White Sox could wish for.

However, amidst an offseason full of rumors, building and buying, the White Sox have one big wish in mind.

That wish would be to sign Washington Nationals superstar outfielder Bryce Harper. Harper, 26, is one of the most sought-after free agents since Alex Rodriguez back in 2003.

Harper has been closely linked to the White Sox, who have even been called the favorite for Harper by several insiders and reporters.

Harper would have the same effect on the White Sox organization as a top draft pick, except he’d be able to make a massive impact from day one. Harper is a franchise-changing player, and the addition of Harper, regardless of the cost, would progress the White Sox rebuild even faster, and potentially make them a contender in a weak American League Central division as soon as 2019.

Harper won’t be cheap–experts predict that it’ll cost well over $300-million to sign the superstar. The White Sox have the money to spend, and the interest from Harper appears to be present. It’ll all come down to if the White Sox are willing to spend, but if they are, then I have a good feeling that we’ll be seeing Bryce Harper in a White Sox uniform soon enough.

It has been a long, long time before the Chicago White Sox have had one of the best players in baseball. The addition of Harper wouldn’t just change the dynamic of the White Sox on the field, but it’d transform the image of the franchise off the field, amongst fans and people in baseball.
