Bryce Harper Rumors: Chicago looking more like the destination

Cubs are in serious contention
What’s the latest on the Cubs and Harper, you ask? Oh, my. It’s getting real interesting. Julie DiCaro of 670 The Score tweeted quite the bombshell on Monday morning. Here’s what it said:
"“I’ll jump into the mix here to say that ahead of Saturday’s show, I was told by a person in a position to know that the #Cubs are *more* in on Harper than we’ve been led to believe.”"
Just a couple of days ago, Jim Bowden went on CBS Sports HQ to give his thoughts on the big names at the winter meetings. He narrowed Harper’s decision down to the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and, of course, the Cubs.
I just heard @Plesac19 predict on “Inside The Clubhouse” @670TheScore that the Cubs would sign Bryce Harper. Said it would come down to Cubs, Phillies. Bold prediction from respected, plugged-in MLB Net guy. I’d be stunned though if he’s right. Great interview.

There are countless insiders, experts and sources who have given us reason to believe that the Cubs very well could be in the mix for Harper. But, what DiCaro suggests is that the “in the mix” tag line may very well be “front runner,” without us actually knowing.
Let us not forget, Harper and Kris Bryant share the same agent. They have been great friends for a long time — since they were kids. The Harper-to-Cubs topic has been a hot one for over a year now, and it is about that time we find out whether or not it actually happens.
