Bryce Harper Rumors: Chicago looking more like the destination

Looking at all of the latest Bryce Harper rumors, Chicago is the city which is picking up a ton of steam lately. Both the Cubs and White Sox are in.
The internet is flooded with Bryce Harper rumors at the moment. What should we actually make of them all? Well, when looking at all of the possibilities, you have to consider the facts.

Harper will not return to the Washington Nationals. We know that is 99.9 percent certain, as even Nationals owner Ted Lerner expressed that hunch just a few days ago. With the Nationals out of the running, Harper will indeed sign with a new team.
Which team, though? And, are the Chicago Cubs or Chicago White Sox considered to be a favorite?
The former, of course, has been talked about for a long time now. There are several reasons Harper would come to the Cubs. On the flip side, why would he choose to sign with the White Sox? That’s the better question.
The Sox would definitely be able to pay him, so there’s that. The Cubs, though, would have to do some moving around of money, players and contracts if they were to go ahead and make that splash.
As the 2018 MLB Winter Meetings are underway, things have been heating up on the Harper front. Specifically, the talk of Harper coming to Chicago has been red-hot. At one point, maybe the talk had died down a little bit over the last month or so. But, not so fast. The possibility of Harper coming to the Windy City is still well alive.
