The Winter Meetings are inching closer, and the latest Chicago White Sox rumors suggest Jose Abreu could be on the move in the near future.

The Chicago White Sox are expected to be buyers this winter.

However, a report on Wednesday could indicate that the White Sox might take a step back before taking a step forward.

Jose Abreu has been the subject of trade rumors for the better part of his tenure on the White Sox.

However, after a lackluster 2018 season, Abreu’s trade value is in question, especially considering the fact that his contract expires after 2019.

Abreu, despite winning a Silver Slugger Award, recorded career-lows in most hitting metrics, including batting average (.265), home runs (22) and RBIs (78).

Despite the rough season, Abreu still holds value as a trade piece. The two-time All-Star is a proven hitter, and has established himself as a force in the middle of the White Sox lineup since coming over from Cuba in 2014.

Will the White Sox be willing to deal Abreu? Who knows. The Los Angeles Dodgers are prospect-rich, and could use a right-handed power hitter after falling short of a World Series Championship for the second-straight season.

Let’s take a look at three separate deals for Abreu between the White Sox and Dodgers.
