Chicago Bulls Rumors: Don’t even think about Markelle Fultz
By Ryan Heckman
There are some recent Chicago Bulls rumors floating around, and one suggests that Markelle Fultz comes to the windy city.
It might be a good thing for Markelle Fultz if he received a change of scenery in the near future. After all, he has become somewhat of a punchline for fans of the Philadelphia 76ers. So, why not the Chicago Bulls?

I mean, we are talking about the first overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. You don’t get selected first overall for no reason, right? Fultz has to have some type of potential still. The ceiling must be higher than the credit he’s gotten as of late.
Right?
We are talking about a guy who put up over 23 points, five rebounds and five assists in his lone year at Washington, while shooting over 40 percent from downtown. College or not, that’s impressive.
Right?
I’ll stop you there, person who is attempting to talk themselves into a potential deal involving Fultz and the Bulls. Sure, there was a rumor floated around recently (via SB Nation) that the Bulls would be an ideal landing spot for the 20-year-old guard. But, the thought of the Bulls shelling out anything to take on someone who has clearly taken a hit to his confidence?
Absolutely not. There is no chance the Bulls trade for Fultz.
(This is right about the time Gar Forman and John Paxson do something really, really dumb)
This is a player whose health is in serious question right now, and no one really knows what is happening. Fultz is apparently recovering from a shoulder injury, which may be the reason for his “broken jump shot,” as Bleacher Report’s Yaron Weitzman notes.
Not only is his shoulder an issue, though, but now Fultz has a concern with his wrist.
Let me be clear: Fultz has yet to be diagnosed with a serious injury. Yes, you read that right. He is still going to be examined, but a serious injury does not yet exist.
So, in the meantime, Fultz continues to sit on the sideline in street clothes until he undergoes said examination. My question is, why isn’t he getting examined now? What’s the hold-up?
If I am the Bulls, I not only look at his poor play, but this incredibly bizarre injury saga and say, “no thanks.” Don’t even think about it, Gar. And, John, put the phone down — now.
