Chicago Bears: 5 reasons fans should be thankful
Health and happiness
The timing of this may not be the best, considering as I type there is a question (and even some doubt) as to whether Trubisky will be able to play on Thursday’s Thanksgiving affair against the Detroit Lions. Harrison Smith‘s late and unnecessary hit, which should result in a fine, caused the injury.
Putting aside an injury to the most critical position in sports (firmly insert tongue in cheek), the Bears have been relatively healthy. In fact, even the injury to Money Mitch isn’t believed to be serious and if he misses time, it will more than likely only be a week.
Outside of that, they have been nicked up here and there with the injuries to Mack and Robinson coming to mind, but even they only missed two games each.
That is a far cry from the past two seasons in which so many players were not only injured but injured for an extended period of time. To complicate things, in previous years, the Bears didn’t have the depth to endure those injuries.
It’s great to tune in each week and see the entire young nucleus of this team take the field every
week. Contrast that with what Chicagoans have seen with their beloved Chicago Bulls who can’t keep their young stars on the court and it really makes you appreciate just how healthy the team has managed to stay this season. Knock on wood. No seriously — go knock on wood.
