There are Chicago White Sox rumors all over, but this is no rumor. Avisail Garcia could soon be sent out of Chicago via trade.

After a team loses 100 games in the regular season, whispers become spoken word. The spoken word soon becomes a shout. For this reason, the latest Chicago White Sox rumors may become more than a rumor.

No, the White Sox are probably not going to be in the conversation for Washington Nationals superstar free agent Bryce Harper. Although, if you have not seen or heard of the rumblings regarding Harper and the White Sox, they are very, very intriguing. Even a certain White Sox pitcher’s social media became relevant in respect to the race for Harper.

What I can say on this particular topic, for certain though, is that part of the conversation is no longer a rumor. The White Sox are, in fact, shopping a notable name on their current roster — Avisail Garcia.

The 27-year-old right fielder is coming off a down year, as he finished with his worst batting average since entering the Majors in 2012 (.236). Garcia also finished with his worst on-base percentage since 2013 at just .281. Still with plenty of baseball in his future, though, the White Sox may be able to find some value for him. Of course, if they do not, the Sox will likely non-tender Garcia.

While this news is fairly notable, it should not come as a huge surprise. During the 2018 season, Garcia was a name which plenty of experts, as well as fans, thought the White Sox would try to trade prior to the deadline.

As we have tried to impose on fans over the last year or so, just try and embrace the rebuild. The White Sox have lots of young talented prospects to look forward to seeing on the field. With Michael Kopech getting healthy, fans can get excited about seeing him pitch once again. Sure, it was not a pretty season. But, keep the faith and know that dealing Garcia will be yet another step towards getting back into the playoff race; and ultimately, the running for a World Series title.
