Chicago Bears: Top five plays from win over Lions
The Chicago Bears won their third-consecutive game on Sunday, defeating the Detroit Lions, 34-22. Here are the Bears top-five plays from the win.
Any of the talk of the Chicago Bears inability to win NFC North Division games was halted on Sunday, at least for now.
The Bears, for the third-consecutive week, dominated the opposition in a win, this time taking down their division rival, and recent nemesis the Detroit Lions by the score of 34-22.
The Bears led 26-0 midway through the second quarter, firing on all cylinders on offense, and making any sort of production impossible for Lions quarterback Matt Stafford, picking off Stafford twice, and sacking him six times.
The returns of Allen Robinson and Khalil Mack, who had both missed the Bears last two games, were felt equally on both offense and defense.
Robinson had a season-high 133 yards on six grabs, finding the end zone twice. On the other side of the field, Mack had two sacks, making an impact simply with his presence on the field.
The Bears win nets them some serious momentum heading into a huge matchup next week, as the Bears will host the second-place Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
Before we get into the top-five plays of Sunday’s win, I think it’s only right that we take the time to recognize a (dis)honorable mention.
Bears kicker Cody Parkey missed four total kicks on the day (two PATs, two field goals), and all four hit the same upright. That’s pretty impressive. I don’t think Parkey could do that again if he tried, or at least I hope he can’t.
