Chicago Bears: 3 reasons the Bills are a sneaky matchup
By Ryan Heckman
You better pay attention to this guy
If you’re just an average football fan, you may still not know who TreDavious White is. That’s fine, because after Sunday, you will certainly know the name.
Let’s take a look at some data from our friends over at Pro Football Focus once again. You’ll love this one.
White ranks 2nd in the NFL in receptions per coverage snap (minimum 50 percent of snaps played). He is currently going 22.3 snaps between each catch he gives up.
White has only given up one passing touchdown all season long, and he typically goes about 12 snaps before he even sees a target come his way.
Quarterbacks have taken notice. Offensive coordinators have taken notice. This guy is the real deal. He is a premier cornerback in this league.
If Allen Robinson is back, White will more than likely be all over him. If not, it’ll probably be Taylor Gabriel or Anthony Miller. Robinson makes the decision easy, but without him, it’ll be interesting to see who White shadows during this contest.
With White essentially erasing anyone he covers, it’ll be up to the running backs and Trey Burton to make even more plays and open up the offense. Trubisky wants no part of White on Sunday, and for good reason.
