Andre Drummond vs. Wendell Carter Jr.

In his first regular season action as a pro Thursday night, Wendell Carter Jr. had the privilege of manning up on Sixers All Star big man Joel Embiid. Carter definitely looked like he had some jitters early on, which is to be expected from many rookies.

Carter only played 20 minutes and ended the game with just eight points, three boards and three assists. However, he did have a big moment on one of the NBA’s best young stars.

Saturday night, Carter will have his hands full again as he gets to take on Andre Drummond. Often overlooked by the average fan, Drummond is a force to be reckoned with. The Pistons may not be a championship-caliber team, but you better pay attention to this guy when they’re in action.

Against the Nets in their season opener, Drummond had an enormous night, finishing with 24 points and 20 rebounds — a 20-20 night to open up the year. Not too shabby, right?

Drummond is a big, athletic, strong center who is tough to push around on either end of the court. Carter, being a taller, skinnier body type might have his work cut out for him here.

Regardless of the end result, fans can rest assured knowing that this is where the action is going to be. Of course, Zach LaVine will have his moments as he should. But, most of the game is going to be played on the inside. That’s where this game will be won, if you’re the Bulls.
