The New England Patriots are favored to beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but there is a path to victory.

Have you fully recovered from that brutal loss by the Chicago Bears to the Miami Dolphins? Yeah me neither. The loss was a terrible one for the Bears for a number of reasons.

First, it allowed the rest of the NFC North to inch closer to the first place Bears. Second, it was an extremely winnable road game, which is hard to come by in the NFL. Finally, it potentially represented a key swing game as the always difficult New England Patriots come to Chicago in what will be Tom Brady‘s last trip to the Windy City.

The Bears are currently 3.5 point underdogs at home, and if they lose to the Patriots, they’ll move to 3-3 and will likely relinquish their lead in the division. Certainly, 4-2 is much better — even psychologically — than 3-3, so this would be a huge win for the Bears. But it certainly won’t be easy, as they take on perhaps the greatest quarterback and head coach of all time.

Moreover, I highlighted some adjustments that the Bears needed to make after their loss to the Fins, and one of them was with this game in mind. The Bears will have their hands full, but this game is not as out of reach as was the case in previous two matchups with the Patriots in 2010 and 2014. In those two contests, the Bears lost by a combined 57 points. This Bears team is a far cry from those squads — especially on defense.

So while this game will be an uphill battle for the Bears, there is definitely a path to victory. Not only that, but there are three very good reasons why the Bears will win this game, which are discussed in depth below.
