Finally, the regular season is here. The Chicago Bulls will open up the 2018-2019 NBA Season in Philadelphia on Thursday night.

The 2018-2019 NBA Season is finally here, and for Chicago Bulls fans, it’s simply nice to have basketball back. As Bulls fans, we aren’t exactly thinking championship this season, but this year should still be a lot more fun than a year ago.

The Bulls enter this year with a few new faces, including veteran forward Jabari Parker, rookies Wendell Carter Jr. and Chandler Hutchison, and first-time permanent staple Antonio Blakeney. For the first month and a half, though, they will be without a key cornerstone in second-year forward Lauri Markkanen.

More from Da Windy City

Thursday night, Chicago will travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of 82. It still isn’t 100 percent certain who will take Markkanen’s place in the lineup, or whether Parker will come off the bench. This has been somewhat of a hot topic that might take a while to sort out. But, Thursday night, we’ll at least have our first concrete answer.

A year ago, the Sixers surprised the NBA after finally launching themselves into the playoffs. I suppose, like the Chicago Cubs, you can only be awful for so long before the top-tier draft picks pile up and pan out.

The Sixers certainly have some young, exciting talent on the roster. It’s going to be a tough matchup to begin the season, with Philly fans all riled up for opening night. But, could the Bulls pull off a spoiler? Let’s take a look at how they could do it.
