Following a devastating loss to the Miami Dolphins in overtime, there are some burning questions that need to be answered by the Chicago Bears.

Excruciating. It’s the only word I could think of to describe the Chicago Bears let-down loss in overtime to the Brock Osweiler led Miami Dolphins. Just prior to kickoff we learned that Ryan Tannehill would be inactive for the game and that Osweiler, a well below average quarterback with little to no mobility would be under center.

However, in just a matter of hours, the Bears’ defense went from licking its chops to licking its wounds, as Osweiler carved them up for 380 passing yards and three touchdowns. Even more shocking is that the defense gave up a total of 541 yards to the inept Dolphins offense with a banged up offensive line and a backup quarterback.

Pressure and solid tackling have been the hallmark of this defense through four games, but both were noticeably absent on Sunday. In fact, the Bears came away with zero sacks in the game, and for the most part did not get much pressure on Osweiler.

This was a total team loss. Every facet of the game failed the Bears at some point during the contest. Whether this excruciating loss becomes a devastating one will depend entirely on how they respond next week. We look at three burning questions following the loss that will go a long way in determining how they respond.
