3: Why help the Eagles, of all teams?
Let’s be real, here. These are the reigning Super Bowl Champions. Why on earth would the Bears want to help a team further their hopes to get back to the big game, within their own conference nonetheless?
As if I haven’t already rambled on enough about why this would be a downright foolish idea, we also have to remember that we’re talking about the team which just won a title last year.
Look at the running backs the Eagles have had recently which have helped their success: Ajayi, LeGarrette Blount, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner.
What do those guys have in common with a guy like Jordan Howard?
Nothing. The answer is nothing.
None of them are even anywhere close to the level of Howard, so why would the Bears want to give the defending champions the best running back they’ve had since McCoy?
Let’s remember, it’s only Week 6, too. There is plenty of time for any of those NFC East teams to figure things out and win the division. The way those four franchises look right now, the winner might only have to win nine games. With Howard, the Eagles easily get another win or two.
Trading Howard to anyone would be flat-out ludicrous. Just the idea is ludicrous. But, the Eagles? Get out of here.
