The Chicago Bulls open their 2018-2019 regular season a week from Thursday in Philadelphia.

The Chicago Bulls spent some cash this offseason. For several reasons, Gar Forman and John Paxson needed to spend a little money in order to assemble a semi-watchable team this coming year. Hey, at least they should be fun to watch.

But, is it going to leave them ultimately fulfilled and looking forward to the future, or will it be one of those impulse type of sprees that leaves the Bulls feeling just as empty in the end?

More from Da Windy City

You know the feeling. You’ve got some cash in your pocket to spend. You can save some, or you can spend some. You see your friends have the best of the best in your particular field of interest, and you know there’s no way you could possibly end up with something similar. But, to feel good about yourself, you spend the money on what you can afford.

In the end, sometimes it leaves you feeling just as empty as you were before.

Will the investments pay off? Or, will fans end this season realizing it was just an empty glimmer of hope?

Either way, Bulls basketball is back, and there are some things to know about this team prior to the start of the regular season. Let’s get it going.
