Offensive MVP: Quarterback Mitch Trubisky

Say all you want about Mitch Trubisky (trust me, I have), but without him, this offense wouldn’t be where its at. The offense isn’t necessarily anywhere close to where it should be, but the direction it is heading is definitely a bit more promising than it was after Week 1.

Trubisky’s Week 4 performance against the Bucs would not have been attainable by backup Chase Daniel. So, for any of those crazy folks out there claiming the offense would be better under Daniel, take a step back.

Trubisky has had his fair share of poor throws, decisions, etc. But, he’s also made some pretty passes along the way. He’s had a couple of 30-plus yard runs. He’s escaped pressure at times and made the right passes.

I’d give him a “C” grade thus far on the season, but he’s still been the guy who makes this all come together. The Bears have tons of weapons on this offense, and without some of his stellar moments, they wouldn’t have gotten into the end zone nearly as much.

His development may be taking a little longer than some (most of Chicago) have the patience for, but that’s alright. If he continues to progress in a way where we see these explosions every once and a while, I’d say he’s more than serviceable at the position.
