Chicago Bears: 3 Buccaneers the Bears must shut down
By Ryan Heckman
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick
He’s just enjoying the ride…
…and stealing teammates’ stylish clothing for post-game press conferences.
Fitzpatrick has been absolutely phenomenal this season through the first three weeks. Most recently, he nearly brought the Bucs back against an also-potent Pittsburgh Steelers team on Monday Night Football.
The first half against the Steelers was the worst we’ve seen Fitzpatrick this year, as he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. But, in the second half, he showed us he has a short memory and ended the game with another ridiculous yardage total (411) and tossed three scores.
This is the league-leading air attack in the NFL right now. The Bears, meanwhile, are the fifth-ranked overall defense in the NFL. Something is going to have to give, and hopefully it’s not the Bears defense.
As I mentioned earlier, getting to Fitzpatrick is going to be key for the Bears. The Steelers proved they could rattle him on Monday night, and when he’s rattled, he’s bound to make some mistakes.
Mack and company are going to need to bring their best game of the season on Sunday. The Bucs have too many weapons for Fitzpatrick to use, and if he’s allowed time, it could be a long day.
