The Chicago Bears are flying high after their Monday Night Football win but must exploit three matchups against the Arizona Cardinals to keep it going.

It appears the Chicago Bears have reached the ornithological portion of their schedule. Oh, have you not heard? It was my understanding that everyone had heard. The Bears just finished grounding the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. They now travel to Arizona where they hope the clip the Cardinals’ wings in a late afternoon affair on Sunday,

Have you had enough bird puns? Yeah me too. The good news for you — if you’re kind enough to read my posts — is that the Bears don’t have another winged creature on its schedule this season.

As it is, the Bears currently sit as a six-point favorite to beat the Cardinals in their own stadium. I can’t remember the last time the Bears were favored in consecutive games, let alone such a big favorite on the road.

That fact alone should tell you all you need to know about how the Cardinals season has gone so far under first-year head coach Steve  Wilks. The former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator finds his team at 0-2 and the reality is neither game has been close having been drubbed by a combined score of 58-6.

Nevertheless, the Bears aren’t good enough to simply put it on cruise control. They still must exploit some key matchups if they want to come out of Arizona 2-1.
