Butler wants to win

Last, and most obvious, being a veteran like Butler who has already been down the road of a rebuilding Bulls franchise, there is absolutely no way he comes back if he truly wants to win a championship.

The Bulls won’t be contending for a while; and for that to happen, a whole lot has to go according to play over the next 3-to-5 years. The odds just aren’t in the Bulls’ favor for winning a title anytime soon, and I know Butler is smart enough to realize it.

Where does he go? Well, my best guess is that he somehow lands with the Los Angeles Lakers and plays alongside LeBron James. After all, the Lakers wanted Kawhi Leonard, who plays the exact same position as Butler. Los Angeles missed out on him, so maybe they give it a shot here with Butler?

I would assume that the Wolves would try and trade him out East, so that they wouldn’t have to face him under any pressing circumstances. But, again, with just a few teams in the mix, according to the report, anything is possible.

What we do know is, a Butler trade back to the Bulls is 99.9 percent unlikely to happen. Those odds are brought to you by a lifelong Bulls fan who understands the state of the franchise and wouldn’t want to play there if I was Butler either. But hey, it’s always fun to speculate.
