Chicago Bulls Rumors: Why Jimmy Butler isn’t coming back
By Ryan Heckman
With a recent report that Jimmy Butler wants out of Minnesota, plenty of folks will be all over spreading Chicago Bulls rumors.
A year and a half ago, the Chicago Bulls and star wing man Jimmy Butler were at a crossroads. The two sides knew what was coming, and the Bulls did what they could to make the best of it.
The Bulls decided on the best return for Butler being what the Minnesota Timberwolves could offer. Chicago ended up netting shooting guard Zach LaVine, point guard Kris Dunn and getting the rights to draft power forward Lauri Markkanen with the no. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Butler was now a Minnesotan. The kid from Marquette whom Tom Thibodeau and Luol Deng had helped groom into a star was no longer a Bull.
Fast forward to now, and all is not well between Butler and his new team.
Multiple reports have confirmed Butler wanting out of Minnesota, and Yahoo’s Shams Charania stated that Butler has a list of “one-to-three teams” he prefers to go to. While that’s not necessarily the end-all, be-all, it should narrow down the possibilities significantly.
Already, across social media, fans (both sarcastically and seriously) have chimed in on why they want Butler back in Chicago. Regardless of your take on the matter, the fact is, it would never happen.
Why? Well, there are many reasons. But, let’s focus on just a few key explanations.
