4. The Bulls trade for Anthony Davis

The Bulls already brought in one Chicago kid in Parker over the summer. One last surprise for Bulls fans this season could be seeing them pull off a blockbuster trade for Pelicans big man, and Chicago native, Anthony Davis.

After seeing DeMarcus Cousins leave for the Golden State Warriors in the offseason, the thought from some was that Davis might not have been all that happy about it.

Recently, former Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce went on record of saying he thinks the Pelicans will trade Davis if New Orleans begins the season playing poorly.

"“I guarantee you that. He will not be in New Orleans by the end of the year. … If they’re not playing well, he will not make it to All-Star Weekend.”"

Pierce thought that the Celtics or Lakers made the most sense, but if the opportunity presented itself for the Bulls to throw their name in the hat, why not?

Maybe dealing Bobby Portis along with two first-round picks would get it done, so long as the Bulls could lock down Davis for the foreseeable future. Davis’ contract runs through 2019-2020 with a player option for 2020-2021. You better believe if he’s in New Orleans that long he will take his talents elsewhere.
