Chicago Bears: Bold predictions for Week 1 against Packers
By Ryan Heckman
Bears win turnover battle
In seven of the Bears’ last eight matchups with Green Bay, they have lost the turnover battle. In those seven games, the Bears came away with a loss on every occasion.
Excuse me, while I vomit.
That is absolutely horrendous. Seven of eight games you lose the turnover battle to the team you can’t stand most? I’ll tell you one thing, if the Bears are going to beat the Packers this season — and I believe they will at least once — they are going to have to win the turnover battle.
It’s something you hear preached all the time in football. Typically, if you win the turnover battle, you win the game. It’s not that hard to comprehend. So, if the Bears do indeed win this battle, they win the game.
Lucky for you, I am predicting the Bears do exactly that — win the turnover battle and win the game.
How do they win the turnover battle? That’s the big question, isn’t it? It starts up front with that pass rush that just got a whole lot better. I’ll get into this a bit later, but the Bears have to find a way to get to the quarterback. If they do, the turnover battle is already won.
