The Chicago Bulls tried building through free agency this offseason by signing forward Jabari Parker to a two-year, $40 million deal. Here are some bold predictions for Parker going into next season.

The Chicago Bulls have clearly exited tank mode going into the 2018-2019 NBA season. They used a top-10 draft pick to select center Wendell Carter Jr. out of Duke in the 2018 NBA Draft. Then they decided to bring home Chicago native Jabari Parker, a forward who has battled multiple injuries in his short NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The deal Parker signed with the Bulls will basically be a one-year test for the forward, as the second year of the deal is a team option for $20 million. If Parker struggles or gets injured again with the Bulls, he will likely be gone after just one season with the team. This should incentivize Parker to take his game to a new level.

The Bulls are a decent fit for Parker, but they’re definitely taking a chance with him coming to Chicago. Parker has struggled defensively when he is healthy, and defense is already a weakness of this Bulls roster. Parker will also be switching positions from power forward to small forward, which could present new challenges for him.

Despite the fact that there are some obstacles to Parker having a breakout year in Chicago, I believe he has the potential and skill to be a great asset for the Bulls. He’s only 23 years old and has a ton of natural, raw talent. With that in mind, here are my three bold predictions for Parker in the 2018-2019 NBA season.
