The numbers speak for themselves

Most of you have already seen a few of the desirable qualities Mack brings to the table represented in numerical form. However, when you stack all of the major numbers one after another, they become overwhelmingly impressive:

  • Since 2015, Mack ranks 1st in the NFL with 257 total quarterback pressures (Pro Football Focus).
  • In 2017, Mack ranked 1st among all edge rushers in run stop percentage (11.2 percent) with a minimum of 80 percent of rush snaps played (PFF). This means that on 11.2 percent of run plays in which Mack was on the field, the play resulted in a loss of yardage for the offense.
  • In the last three seasons, the Bears have not had a player with more than 8.5 sacks. Mack has compiled 10.5, 11.0 and 15.0 in his last three seasons, respectively (ESPN).
  • Since 2015, Mack has finished top-10 in tackling efficiency among all edge rushers (PFF).
  • Mack finished as the top graded edge rusher in 2015 and 2016, and the third-highest graded edge rusher in 2017 (PFF).
  • Mack ranks 2nd in sacks (36.5) since 2015 (NFL.com).
  • Mack owns three of the top four all-time seasons with the most impact plays (quarterback pressures and run stops). He owns the no. 1, no. 3 and no. 4 spot on the list with 129 (2016), 120 (2015) and 120 (2017) impact plays (PFF).

I thought it would be appropriate to compile a chunk of numbers that Mack is bringing with him to Chicago. It is clear the Bears are getting a generational player. Anyone who wants to deny or debate that is simply not thinking clearly.

Next. Bears fleeced Raiders for Khalil Mack, and you know it. dark

The Bears’ defense improved drastically with the addition of just one player in Mack, and he is certainly going to make an impact immediately. Who is ready for Week 1?
