Chicago Bears: Winners and losers from Buffalo Bills game
Although no Chicago Bears starters played Thursday night, there was still plenty on the line for players trying to prove themselves. Some fared better than others.
The Chicago Bears put a bow on the 2018 preseason with a 28-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field. It was nice not to hear discussions over the merits of Matt Nagy sitting his starters. This was the last preseason game. A snowball has a better chance of surviving in the ninth circle of hell than a starter does of seeing the field.
However, there is still a tremendous amount at stake in the final preseason game of the year. Even if they are not very exciting for fans, they mean the world to the fringe players fighting for a roster spot.
For those types of players, the last game is their final chance to make an impression on the coaching staff. One last opportunity to make a case for sticking on the 53-man roster. Make no mistake, jobs can be won and lost on the final night of the preseason.
Players are looking to showcase their talents but also prove their worth to the team. One way to do that is to show the coaching staff how versatile they are. Of course, not everyone makes the most of their opportunity. As a result, we take a look at the winners and losers from last night’s game.
