Chicago Bears: Players who could surprisingly make final roster vs. Bills
By Ryan Heckman
Cornerback Kevin Toliver II
If you have followed the Bears closely and followed any of our work here at Da Windy City, you know the story of Kevin Toliver II. I don’t have to go into too much detail about how he was projected to be drafted, yet slipped through the cracks and wound up on the Bears.
You might know by now how Toliver came out of the gates swinging at training camp. His first two days featured three interceptions, and you heard his name often. But, beyond those first two eye-opening practices, Toliver has been quite average.
In fact, he’s been beaten badly on a few occasions throughout training camp. At one point, it looked like the Bears could be fairly deep at corner with all of the younger talent fighting for spots, but over the course of preseason play, that group’s potential has dwindled a bit.
Still, if the Bears like the upside of Toliver and the flashes he showed them in camp, he could wind up being one of the final corners kept. The remaining spots are definitely up for grabs, and some notable names will likely be cut. Can Toliver squeeze his way onto the team? We’ll find out soon enough.
