Trade for outside linebacker Khalil Mack

The most talked about potential trade of the summer has revolved around edge rusher Khalil Mack. He still has yet to show up for the Oakland Raiders and as of right now it doesn’t appear likely he will come around anytime soon. Mack seems fine with missing out on millions at this point, in hopes that a new contract would be exponentially greater than any losses.

A couple of weeks ago, the Bears were mentioned as one of the top teams in the conversation for Mack. Per SportsLine, it was between the Raiders, Bears and Packers as the three most likely landing spots for Mack this season.

If the Bears were to shell out enough to land Mack, their defense would immediately jump into the top five in all of football. They finished no. 10 last season, and adding a game-changing player like Mack would guarantee them a spot amongst the elite.

The Bears’ biggest problem right now is the pass rush, period. Anyone who would argue another position is out of their mind. Without a pass rush, your defense is dead in today’s NFL. If the Bears can’t generate pressure and sacks, they won’t be winning games in 2018. Mack helps that cause tremendously.
