The second player to stand out against the Broncos was receiver Anthony Miller, who caught three passes for 33 yards. Miller was drafted in the second round and is one of the best overall players in Memphis history. He’s flashed his potential all training camp, but it’s nice to actually see him translate it to the game.

Out of all of the skills that Miller has, the one I love the most is the anger he plays the game with. On one catch, Daniel threw the ball a little behind Miller, who didn’t break stride and was able to stiff arm the cornerback into the ground and pick up additional yardage.

On another play, Miller leaped over two defenders for a tremendous catch along the sideline. Miller showed the awareness to keep his feet in bounds and time his jump perfectly.

On a side note, how about that throw from Trubisky? He was rolling to his left and still threw it right on the money in a spot only Miller could bring in the catch. That’s one of the toughest throws a quarterback can make and Trubisky just made it in his second season. The future is certainly bright with the Trubisky-Miller connection.
