Chicago Bears: Players on roster bubble to watch vs. Denver Broncos

Final pass rusher spots heating up
Outside linebacker is one of the most talked about spots on this Bears roster, and not always for good reasons. Aside from Leonard Floyd, the Bears don’t have a surefire starter on the other side. My guess is that Vic Fangio will use a group of players rotated in there each week.
Who will be part of that rotation, though? That’s the question.
Right now, Sam Acho and Aaron Lynch should make the team. Rookie sixth-round pick Kylie Fitts should also be all but a lock, especially due to his standout play in August both in camp and the preseason.
Beyond Fitts, there are a few guys, but the two that most fans have watched more closely are Isaiah Irving and Kasim Edebali. Both of these players can’t make the team, as the Bears are not likely to keep six outside linebackers.
Over the next three preseason games, it will probably be between Edebali and Irving to hash out that final pass rusher position. So far, my money is on Irving. He’s looked like a capable NFL pass rusher in his preseason action, and has also flashed in camp quite a bit.
Edebali is a veteran who has played for a few teams at this point, and also has regular season experience over his career. These two will be ones to watch on Saturday night, and whoever comes away with a bigger play could end up finding themselves ahead on the next depth chart.
