As the Chicago Bears take on the Denver Broncos in their third preseason game, there will be several key players to watch who are on the bubble.

This week, the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos had a chance to see each other up-close and personal on multiple occasions. Both Wednesday and Thursday, the teams took to the practice field and conducted joint practices with one another.

There were a lot of things to like about the Bears’ roster, even according to those on the Broncos side. John Elway praised Mitch Trubisky as if you almost wondered whether he was a bit envious of the Bears figuring out their franchise quarterback for years to come.

Anthony Miller looked great — aside from the small altercation he was involved in, that is.

Cody Whitehair was the talk of many Bears fans this week as much of the on-hand media criticized his inefficiency snapping the ball. That will be something to watch going forward, especially with so many questioning whether James Daniels would be a better fit there.

Aside from the bigger names, the Bears have tons of position battles going on which will continue to take shape as these two teams square off on Saturday night in Denver. This will be the Bears’ third preseason game of the month, thanks to the Hall of Fame Game giving them an extra opportunity.

Which players are on the bubble? Which players could end up saying goodbye if Saturday doesn’t see them execute well? Those are the situations I’ll be monitoring the most. Take a look at five spots the Bears have one or more players you should be watching closely in Saturday night’s preseason game.
