Bold Prediction Number 4

LaVine will earn a trip to Charlotte for the 2019 All Star Game

So, let’s do the math here. If my first bold prediction comes to fruition, and LaVine indeed puts up over 20 points per game, that’s going to catch the attention of All Star voters. Let’s go even further and I’ll say LaVine puts up about 22 points per game prior to the 2019 All Star Break.

To go along with the points, if LaVine sees an uptick in his career averages for rebounds, assists and steals, we could realistically place him at the following line:

22.0 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game

Combine that with the long shot of Chicago competing for a playoff spot and showing a huge improvement year-over-year (which is likely), and LaVine could be headed for Charlotte.

By comparison, Klay Thompson‘s line was very similar as an All Star last year: 20.1 points, 2.6 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. Of course, Thompson plays for the best team in the league, but it’s still worth mentioning.

The fact that LaVine is surrounded by more talent than he was last year is worth noting when talking about any aspect of his game, specifically defense (more on that in a bit). But, his game as a whole should take a leap with more talent around him. Less pressure is typically a positive, right?
