The Chicago Bears have finally agreed to terms with eighth-overall pick Roquan Smith on a four-year, rookie-scale deal.

Smith is the last of the 256 2018 draft picks to sign, ending a training camp-long contract dispute.
The dispute was reportedly over the details of Smith’s deal, including the protection of Smith’s guaranteed money in case of a suspension, rather it be for an incident on or off the field.
Smith’s signing comes just one day after the Bears completed training camp in Bourbonnais. While Smith missing all of camp might not sit well with fans, its great to see the rookie finally join the team.
Smith will be joining the Bears as early as Tuesday night in Denver, in preparation for the Bears Week 2 preseason game in Denver against the Broncos.
While its unlikely that he’ll play much if at all, Smith could make his Bears debut on Saturday night against the Broncos. Miraculous, considering reports that the two sides had no contact with each other as of last week.
