Versus Orlando Magic, Oct. 13, Mexico City

For the first time ever, the Chicago Bulls will play a regular season game in a country that is not the United States or Canada.

On Thursday, October 13 the Bulls face off against the Orlando Magic at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico (Mexico City Arena). Although the Bulls have played preseason games outside of the U.S. and Canada before, it will mark the first regular season game not in one of those two countries. The Magic will be the home team for the matchup.

This will mark the third year in a row that the NBA will play two regular season games in Mexico, bringing the total of NBA games played in Mexico to 28.

Perhaps even more exciting for Bulls fans is that the game looks on paper to be an even matchup. The Bulls and Magic came in at No. 25 and No. 26, respectively on ESPN’s power rankings from end of July.

Hopefully the Bulls will be well-rested before making the flight to Mexico City.

It’s also worth noting that altitude may play a factor in the game, as Mexico City sits at 7,382 feet above sea level. That’s over 2,000 feet higher than the Mile High City of Denver, CO.
