Future shakeup coming up front?

Since Cody Whitehair came into the league, I have been a fan of his. He’s been handed some tough situations as coaches have moved him around between guard and center. This season, it looked like he was set to stick at center.

Fans may remember Whitehair having some trouble with snaps last season, and his recent performance against the Bengals was reminiscent of those snaps last year. Whitehair looked a bit shaky, especially on one particular bad snap.

Rookie James Daniels came in at center following Whitehair and looked downright phenomenal. Almost immediately after seeing a few snaps from Daniels at center, Twitter exploded with Bears fans calling for a switch.

You can only take social media into account so far, but in this case, I believe fans were correct in their initial reaction. Daniels looked much stronger at the center position against Cincinnati. The great part about this is, we know Whitehair is solid at guard. He gets it done. Heck, he was a Pro Bowler at that position.

If Nagy and his offensive staff were smart, they would make this switch happen, and quickly. Throw Daniels at center, move Whitehair back to guard, and get that unit some reps in the next couple of preseason games.
