Chicago Bears: Predicting an undefeated September in 2018
By Ryan Heckman
As the start of the 2018 NFL season inches closer, we take a look at how the Chicago Bears can begin by going undefeated in their first four games.
It’s almost here, folks. The Chicago Bears will kick off the 2018 NFL season just over a month from now when they travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers in a primetime affair. Sunday Night Football gets underway this year with the oldest rivalry in the game.
The Packers open up their 100th season as a franchise on this night, so you can bet the fans will be rocking. The atmosphere is second-to-none when it comes to this division, and Chicago’s revamped roster and coaching staff will be ready to rock.

A lot can be said about the magnitude of this game for the Bears. It’s the team’s first chance to show off their new offense under Matt Nagy, along with all of the new additions to the unit. It’s a chance to show the football world that this team is no longer a joke, and their ascension is happening faster than some may have anticipated.
But, beyond just the first game, I think the first four weeks of the season will set a tone going forward. The Bears have an early bye week this year, taking a break in Week 5. If this team can somehow head into it undefeated, I’d like their chances at a potential Wildcard spot come January.
How do the Bears do it, though? How could this team win their first four games with so many new faces, a brand new offensive playbook and a young quarterback looking to take the leap? For starters, a top-10 defense won’t hurt.
Let’s veer off into these first four matchups for a moment and predict exactly how the Bears can begin the year undefeated through September.
