Chicago Bears Rumors: Potential trade packages for Aaron Donald
The Chicago Bears defense is in its best shape in years. However, they may have an opportunity to bolster it in a big way with a trade for Aaron Donald.
I’ll admit it.
Trades in the NFL are few and far between. NFL teams don’t execute trades involving players nearly as much as teams in the MLB, NBA and NHL do.

As a matter of fact, the Chicago Bears haven’t made a significant trade involving a player since 2015, when they sent Brandon Marshall to the New York Jets. Last year, Dontrelle Inman was acquired, but the Bears were able to keep the seventh-round pick due to Inman not meeting end-of-season caveats.
Despite the rarity of trades, the Bears actually have made their fair share of notable moves.
Most notable is perhaps the Bears most infamous trade — a 2009 deal that brought quarterback Jay Cutler to Chicago for two first-round picks and a third rounder.
So maybe impact trades haven’t quite been the Bears bread-and-butter. Oh well.
That can all change in a matter of weeks, however.
Amidst a training camp holdout stemming from a long contractual dispute, one of the leagues best players could very well be available on the market in the coming days.
Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been the subject of perhaps the most well-chronicled holdout of this camp season. The Rams gave Donald until Tuesday to report, although it looks like that won’t be happing.
There have been no rumors of any trade talks surrounding Donald. But it’s happened before when it comes to contract disputes, and both the Bears and Rams might just be in the best possible positions to make a deal happen.
Here’s how.
