Pitcher: Carlos Rodón

Carlos Rodón is without-a-doubt a rising pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. He has a record of 3-3, which does not sound all that exquisite. Fortunately, though, some underlying stats show that he does have a lot to offer the White Sox.

Rodón has started nine times so far for the White Sox. While he has not pitched many games for the White Sox, his numbers do say a lot about his play.

Rodón is currently sitting with a 1.06 WHIP and .193 opponent batting average. To me, these are some pretty impressive numbers. I feel that the White Sox need to be utilizing this somewhat “secret” weapon more than they have been.

Could he be that secret weapon for the White Sox on the pitching side throughout this rebuild? I believe Rodón has the potential to do some great things on the mound, and I think if he gets more playing time that he could prove exactly what I think he’s capable of — limiting opposing teams to runs, which the White Sox could definitely utilize.

So far this season, Rodón has pitched a total of 51.8 innings. If the White Sox can give him some more innings to pitch to help develop him during the rebuild, I feel like Rodón could very well be one of the stronger, more reliable pitchers for the White Sox next season.
