The game will be played in Canton, Ohio, leading into Hall of Fame induction weekend, featuring newly-inducted former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.
The Bears had a dismal 2017 season, going 5-11 in John Fox’s final season at the helm.
Another poor season forced a flurry of changes in Chicago, headlined by the hiring of head coach Matt Nagy.
Nagy, formerly the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator, brings an exciting, explosive offensive scheme to Chicago.
Nagy will work with Mitch Trubisky, a popular breakout candidate, as the two will look to develop Trubisky into the Bears franchise quarterback in his second year.
While there may be a load of excitement around Nagy and Trubisky, Bears fans should not expect to get a good sense of the new offense from Thursday’s game.
The first of five preseason games, the Hall of Fame Game, given its early timing, rarely features much, if any, play from staters. Bears star running back Jordan Howard has already announced that he will not play in the game. Most starters who do play will only play for a couple of series.
However, there’s still plenty to watch for, Bears fans. Primarily in the position battles department.
Let’s get into it: Here are three players to watch in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
