Chicago Bears: 3 players that can help pass rush situation
Junior Galette
Junior Galette could also a target for the Bears. Galette had 22 sacks combined in two seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He missed a couple seasons to injury, but played for the Washington Redskins last season. Galette only had three sacks, but did play in all 16 games. He did not start in any of the games, so he was used as more of a situational pass rusher.
The good news is that he was healthy. Fangio could also help improve his game with his tremendous schemes and stunts that allow players like Galette to use their speed to get home to the quarterback.
The issue with Galette is that he would also bring some baggage to the Bears, which I’m not sure that head coach Matt Nagy, Pace and ownership want. They already dealt with the fallout from Jay Ratliff and many others that had off-field issues. Galette was accused of domestic violence a few years ago, but ultimately all charges were dropped.
Still, for a Bears team that has really tried hard to build a locker room of players with strong character, it remains to be seen if they would take a risk on Galette. Maybe Galette has put those issues behind him and will be a great guy, but nobody can truly answer that question except Galette himself. Still, he remains an option for the Bears, as far as someone that can rush the quarterback.
