Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Wide receiver: Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Kevin White, Javon Wims and Josh Bellamy

  • The only major surprise here is White at number four on the depth chart. As of right now, he will most likely make the opening day roster. While his play in camp has not been perfect, he has made some very nice plays and flashed some of that talent that general manager Ryan Pace saw when he drafted him seventh overall. I believe the preseason games will determine if Wims beats out Bellamy or if he gets placed on the practice squad. If Wims demonstrates the ability to be productive on special teams, then I’d think he’d certainly have the inside track to beating out Bellamy.

Tight end: Trey Burton, Dion Sims, Adam Shaheen, Ben Braunecker, Daniel Brown

  • I was a little surprised to see Shaheen listed as third on the depth chart. However, I think it’s much more of a 2A and 2B situation. The battle of Braunecker and Brown will be interesting to watch in the preseason. I really like the talent of Brown, which he showed down the stretch in 2016, but in 2017 there were far too many plays where it looked like he ran the wrong route or wasn’t giving 100 percent effort on some plays. Braunecker has hardly played, but there is a reason why he’s managed to stick around this long.
