One of the positions of concern at the moment, for the Bears, is at the outside linebacker spot. Currently, Aaron Lynch is dealing with a third minor injury since joining the team as a free agent this spring. Live game action hasn’t even begun, and the problems are aplenty for the former San Francisco 49ers pass rusher.
Aside from Lynch, rookie sixth-round pick Kylie Fitts is dealing with an arm injury and did not practice on Friday. The whispers, right now, are that he may need a little time. Over the course of his playing history, Fitts has dealt with several injuries that have kept him from consistently seeing the field.
So, here we are, left with veteran Sam Acho starting opposite of Leonard Floyd. Behind Acho you have guys like Isaiah Irving, Jonathan Anderson and Elijah Norris — wait, who? Exactly. The Bears have a problem.
Since early in the offseason, former first-round pick Shaq Lawson has been the center of both trade rumors and talks that he could be cut loose. It all depends on how he performs in camp. Even less than a month ago, Lawson was said to have not been the best fit on the Bills and that his days could be numbered.
Lately, fans have wondered whether or not Lawson could be a guy that Ryan Pace goes after with such a huge void at the pass rush position. Let’s take a look at a potential deal overall, and what it would take to land the former 19th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
