Chicago Bears: 5 takeaways after week one of training camp
The Chicago Bears are now one week into training camp and we take a look at some of the storylines.
Last Thursday the Chicago Bears reported to training camp. Because of the new coaching staff, NFL rules permitted them to start one week earlier than the rest of the league. From the moment Ryan Pace hired Matt Nagy to be the next head coach, the anticipation level has been building. In fact, every move since the firing of John Fox has been prologued to this moment.
And while the offseason seemed to move along with the speed of an oil tanker, the wait is effectively over.
Fans are able to catch glimpses of what this new cast of characters will look like. They’ll get to see snippets of how Nagy will employ his various weapons in an offense still very much unknown.
Thanks to the legion of fans who have been tweeting out videos of practice en masse, fans don’t have to leave their living room.
Side note — the Bears’ Draconian rule prohibiting credentialed media from tweeting our videos is absurd, especially since hundreds of fans are doing it every day.
In any event, we are now approximately one week into training camp, and thus far, a few interesting storylines have already started to emerge. We look back at the week that was with five impressions of what’s transpired.
